The Joy of Having Rottweiler Puppies

photo credit: trenarrenTo those that don’t know too much about dogs, here is a little insight about Rottweilers.  These dogs are good-natured and very fond of children.  They are obedient, loyal and eager workers.  Their appearance sometimes or usually scares other people, but beyond that scary face lie a confident and courageous dog that will protect his home and his family from any threat.

But before these dogs fully mature, they are born as cute puppies!  Yes indeed, one of the most adorable animals in the animal kingdom, the Rottweiler puppies!

Rottweiler puppies are quite alert in their environment, usually very playful and aloof at times.  Kids will definitely love them for they are lovable companions.  They are good stress relievers; don’t you know that actually owning a puppy can give you a lot of benefits aside from protection?

There are many wise quotes about pets, one that states that “There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face”.

You can’t have anything better than that!  You’ll know just how much they love you and make sure you show them how much you love them too (not by licking them back).

If the truth were told, a lot of dog owners and animal lovers prefer to spend a lot of time with their pets, probably more than they would some people.  Rottweiler puppies are probably one of the best companions that anyone could ever have.  They are an intelligent breed of dogs with extreme hardness and adaptability.  Train them well and they will reward you, treat them well and they will prove themselves great.  Personally if given the chance I would own more than one!  I’ll take them to the park, feed them, bathe them and cuddle them all day long.  That would surely be fun!

They are very hard to resist!  It makes you want to curl beside them and play with them all day (at times, though you won’t admit it.  You want to squeeze them so tight).  I would definitely love to have Rottweiler puppies running around the house.  Nothing beats a day by playing with your pets, and enjoying yourself in the process.

A lot of people have a lot to say about dogs; probably the most common of all is the saying that “A dog is a man’s best friend”.  If that is true then, a puppy is a kid’s best friend, won’t you agree?

If you are thinking about purchasing Rottweiler puppies, look for certified and reputable online websites that can best serve your wants.

What Happens In A Dog Training School

photo credit: Sugar PondHistory would show that just like humans, dogs were also given formal training. It may not be as comprehensive as what we learn in school due to the difference in intellect, but nonetheless, they were still given their own form of education. This tradition has carried until today were dog owners want their pets to be properly trained. But since doing it on your own can be a taxing job, dog training schools were set-up to help you hone your pet’s skills and maintain discipline.

Now for the uninitiated, dog training schools don’t operate like our schools do where there’s a teacher trying to train a classroom full of kids. While it’s possible to implement this system with people, when it comes to dogs, training needs to be more personal and hands-on. That means dogs enrolled in a training school are given their own personal trainer to help them enhance their skills. The benefit of doing this is that the trainer is able to focus solely on molding the dog without being distracted by other animals. This makes training more effective and efficient.

Aside from providing the dog with its own trainer, these schools have a set program or course prepared for your pets depending on your needs. You can start off with a basic program that consists of simple lessons from teaching your dog how to “sit” or “stay still.” Now if your pet happens to master all these skills already, you have an option to have them undergo specialized training which can help them become better guard animals at home.

A dog training school can do a lot for both you and your dog. Not only can it help cultivate a better relationship between the two of you, you’ll also have peace-of-mind knowing that you won’t have to come home to a messed-up house courtesy of your canine pal.

Furminator

June 23, 2010 by Chris
Furminator

Looking at some interesting Furminator reviews is the best way to see just how effective it is as a deshedding tool. Many pet owners simply despair of ever finding anything to get rid of all the fur their pets shed but the Furminator really does live up to the hype.

Looking on Dog Blogs and reading what others have to say is a great way to get a little more understanding of just how effective it really is. We will see after reading reviews that it really is about the best hing on the market for stopping the house being full of the animals fur.

It works by getting deep in to the under coat of our pets and getting rid of all the old fur that is shed every month or so. If you have never used it before then you will be amazed at just how much fur does come off the animals when you use it for the first time. In fact you will think that it is actually cutting fur as it simply never seems to stop coming out.

All of that fur would have been in the house sooner or later so this de-sheddding tool really will cut down very dramatically on the amount of fur we have to clean up on a daily basis.

And what we will find is that the animals actually seem to enjoy being brushed with this tool. It gets really deep in to the fur and will make their skin feel great, we just need to ensure that we do not over do it. It is a very powerful brushing tool and gets rid of so much fur that we need to ensure that we do not use it too often, we could end up with a bald patch otherwise. If you have problems with constant fur in the house then the perfect answer is to use the Furminator.

First, choose a product that has the ingredient IGR that will prevent fleas to reach the reproductive stage.  Also, be sure to purchase enough that will cover the entire house. Check the directions on the product because many are designed to cover a certain amount of space within a house. If you are wondering where to buy flea bombs, they can be found at hardware stores and pet stores.

Tape shut all of the cabinets or move anything used to prepare food from the home. Be sure all food is properly wrapped and stored. Move all furniture to uncarpeted areas. All carpeted areas should be exposed to the chemical because fleas tend to live in the carpets. Make sure that all of the windows and entrances are shut as well.

Remove all pets and pet items such as litter boxes, toys, cages and tanks from the home. Most importantly, make sure all people are out of the home as well.

Place the bomb, or bombs, in the intended areas. Following the instructions of the product, release the bombs and leave the premises immediately. Stay out until the listed time has elapsed.

Once you have returned, give the treated area a good cleaning as guided. Typically you will need to vacuum all carpets and dust all surfaces that have come into contact with the insecticide. Wash any dishes, pots, pans, linens, pillows and counter tops.

One of the most important things to remember is to always follow the instruction on the product. Another thing to consider is to flea-dip your pets right before the house is bombed and straight away remove them. While fleas can be a nuisance, a flea bomb can restore your home to a pest free state very effectively.

If you are thinking about getting a Siberian Husky puppy I urge you to check your local animal shelter first and consider adopting a husky.  Not that getting husky puppies from a breeder is a bad thing, it’s just that there are so many husky puppies and adult huskies sitting in animal shelters across the country that could use a good home.

If you have a local animal shelter close by, then it might not hurt to just get in the car and take a ride to see they have any huskies available for adoption. If you do not live that close to an animal shelter you can Google animal shelters in your area and then just make phone calls and ask them if they have any Siberian Huskies or husky puppies available for adoption. A lot of shelters will take your information and give you a call if a husky shows up at the shelter. If they do not offer, you can always request that they notify you if you any huskies are brought into the shelter.

Many animal shelters work closely with rescue groups as well. Many times rescue leagues will request that they be contacted if any the breed that their rescue represents show up at the shelter. You can contact local Siberian Husky Rescue Groups and inquire about dogs in their care as well.

If you can’t locate a Siberian Husky in your area you can always try adoptapet.com. This is an excellent website and you can locate dogs a significant distance away from you. If you are truly set on adopting a Siberian Husky and distance is not an issue, then using this website is a great alternative to visiting a more local animal shelter. The website provides you with photos of all the available dogs and puppies and it also gives you a little background on each dog as well. It’s a great resource and I’m sure it has saved so many dogs lives!

Quick Action Required For Dog Urine Odor Removal

Pet owners who have puppies as well as senior dogs often find themselves the most in need of dog urine odor removal. Accidents often happen to both older incontinent dogs as well as young pups learning to be housebroken. It’s important to completely remove the dog urine odor so that your pet won’t return to relieve himself again on the same spot.

Especially when the urine has spilled onto an upholstered fabric or carpeted surface, speed is important in order to successfully remove the urine odor before it has a chance to dry. Grab a clean cotton rag or a wad of paper towels and mop up as much of the liquid as possible after the accident. If the urine has soaked into the carpet, put several newspapers on top of the spill and apply pressure to soak up as much of the urine as possible.

Now rinse the area with clean water and soak up as much as possible using a wet vacuum or sponge. Apply a commercially prepared dog urine neutralizer to the area which contains enzymes that break down the urine. These solutions work well on both upholstery as well as carpeting.

Other solutions can help to neutralize the urine odor and these include white vinegar diluted with water, full strength rubbing alcohol, dry baking soda sprinkled over the area and then vacuumed away when dried or liquid chlorophyll.

Never use hot water or steam cleaners to eliminate dog urine odors as the heat will likely set the stain and the odor will become permanent on the fabric or carpeting. It is also important to remove any soaked padding underneath the carpeting because unless you replace the padding, the faint trace of urine odor will continue even though the carpeting on top looks fresh and clean.

Removing dog odor urine on painted, varnished, tiled or other hard surfaces requires the same quick action as upholstery and carpeting because the acid content in urine will stain these surfaces. Wash the area with a mild detergent and cool water, then rinse with cold water and dry completely before evaluating whether or not you will need to wipe over the spot with an enzyme neutralizer to eliminate all traces of dog urine odor.

Continue to watch your puppy or dog within the next day or so to make sure they don’t return to that spot and be patient in retraining them to signal when they need to relieve themselves outside when necessary.

Many dogs love to travel and taking Fido on vacation with you can be a lot of fun. Many hotels these days have become far more dog friendly and welcome canines as guests. However not every dog is a born road warrior. Here are some useful tips to make a traveling with your dog a little bit easier:

Identification – Even if your dog is micro chipped (which many are these days) he should still be wearing a collar with a tag that clearly states his name, address and telephone number when traveling. If your dog wanders off at home, chances are that a neighbor will recognize him, but while on vacation in a strange place it is essential that he can easily identified and returned quickly to his owner.

Food and Water – When traveling by car always keep a good supply of fresh clean water at hand for your dog. To avoid tummy upsets bring your dog’s regular dog food along with you on the trip as well. Some dogs are already prone to a little travel sickness so feeding him a strange brand of food may only exacerbate the problem.

Crates – The best way for your dog to travel in the car is in a comfortable dog crate. Allowing your dog to be loose while you are driving is not a safe situation for either of you. If he doesn’t use one at home and you have to purchase one especially for the trip, look for a model that is big enough for him to stand up and turn around comfortably in, but not so large that sudden movements of the car will have him slung around all over the place.  There are many places in the online world to buy pet supplies, so be sure to pick out a quality dog crate that will fit your dog’s needs.

If your dog turns out to be a really bad traveling companion (and some just are), rather than make him miserable by shutting him up in a car where he does not want to be, leave him home with a reliable friend or neighbor or find a good boarding kennel for him to stay at while you enjoy your vacation.

Sometimes, for whatever reason, we may be forced to give our dog a food that they are not accustomed to eating. Many dogs make the change without any problem at all. Some dogs though, are sensitive to certain ingredients and will not respond well. Here is an example of what happened with a pet who had dog food allergies.

James was reclining on the couch resting when his phone rang. He made Thunder, his Labrador Retriever get off of his lap so he could get the phone. It was James’ boss. They talked for a while and James learned he had to fly out the next morning to go to Memphis to take care of a client’s issue.

The next moment James realized that his mother, who lived near him, would not be available to watch Thunder since she was at his aunt’s house. James quickly went through people that might take him and thought of Brad, a neighbor that had a friendly mutt named Sandy. Thunder and Sandy got along well enough and James was in a pinch, so he called Brad.

Brad said he would be happy to do it, so James dropped Thunder, his food and instructions off the next morning before leaving town.

James’ trip that was only supposed to last 4 days ended up taking three weeks. When James spoke with Brad, James was assured that it was not a problem and that everything would be fine.

When James finally returned, he found Thunder in a lot different shape than he left him. His normally carefree pup was scratching at different areas of his body and had lost some of his coat in those areas. James at first thought Thunder had gotten fleas, but after a thorough inspection, he did not find any. Before leaving, James asked Brad how long Thunder had been like this, while trying really hard not to offend his friend. Brad said the scratching had only happened a few days ago. With further questioning, James learned that Thunder had run out of his regular food and James had given him the same food that Sandy ate.

James quickly realized that Sandy’s food had wheat and corn in it, to which Thunder was allergic. Thunder had been placed on a special food a few years before after having problems with dog food allergies. James explained the situation to Brad, and Brad felt terrible. Sandy had eaten the food for years, but never had a problem.

If you believe your dog has a dog food allergy, it is important to get them to a vet to be properly diagnosed. A non-seasonal itchiness could be caused by a dog food allergy, but could also be due to fleas. Your vet will be able to help determine the cause.

If your family is thinking about getting a dog, it’s important that you choose a breed that will be compatible with everyone involved. There are quite a few dog breeds out there and you’ll want to do some homework to help you find the perfect family pet. A few things you’ll want to consider are the breed’s temperament, upkeep, and health. We’ll compare a Siberian Husky and a Chihuahua to exhibit how unique each breed is.

The most important characteristic of the Siberian Husky is their fun-loving temperament. Husky puppies are by far some of the most playful pups out there. The Siberian Husky can be mischievous and if given the chance they love to roam. A fenced yard is must with breed. Huskies are an active dog, bred to run tirelessly for miles. They need ample daily exercise. A long run or jog off the leash in a safe area would be ideal. They also love to pull and being out in the cold weather. As with a lot of the larger breeds there are a few minor health concerns. The major health concerns are PRA, cataract, corneal opacities, and distichiasis.

The saucy Chihuahua has earned its place as a favored toy dog. Chihuahua’s are reserved with strangers but good with other household dogs and pets. Some Chihuahua’s try to be protective but they’re not very effective due to their size. Chihuahua’s usually do not exceed six pounds. Chihuahua’s are known to be temperamental and can often persistently bark. They are very lively and require a lot of exercise. Because they are so tiny they’re exercise needs can be met just by running from room to room. The Chihuahua is not an outdoor dog; it hates the cold. Coat care for the smooth is minimal. The long coat entails brushing two or three times a week. There aren’t any major health concerns surrounding the Chihuahua.

As you can see, certain breeds would be better with certain people. Husky puppies need a lot of exercise so they need someone who likes being outside. Chihuahua puppies would rather stay indoors so it would be beneficial if their owner felt the same. Be sure to do your homework before getting a new puppy. Compatibility is key!

Providing care for a dog can seem like a daunting task when it isn’t approached in a well thought out manner. As with any undertaking, preparation can make completion of the goal a whole lot easier. Before the dog even enters the home, there are some items that will need to be acquired.

On this shopping list should be things such as: dog collars, dog food, leash, dog bowls, shampoo that’s made specifically for dogs etc. Those are some of the staples. Some optional items would be things like: dog treats, toys, clothes etc.

Of course, there isn’t just one list to follow because for different dogs and different living environments, the items required to care for the new pooch with vary. If the dog will be staying in the house, a dog bed may be purchased or a floor pillow can be recycled. You’ll want to make sure that any recycled or reused materials are clean. If your residence is a house with a fenced in yard then your dog may roam free to get exercise or handle it’s outside business. If you plan to take your dog for a walk whether you live in a house with a small yard or an apartment, you’ll need a dog lead and good quality collar. Most places require that dogs are leashed and kept from running free. There are many kinds of dog leads even some that let you adjust the length which allows you to determine how close you want to keep you dog.

Another item to consider for your dog would be a tag to wear on the his or her collar. On this tag you may put the dog’s name and your address so that in the event that the dog is lost and someone finds it they can be returned to you quite easily using the information on the tag. Taking care of a dog entails a lot of time and energy, but those are just a few items to get started on that path to sufficient dog care.
