One favorite breed of puppy
Beagles are very merry and almost has a friendly disposition, but they are not always the dog for every family. Beagles and beagle puppies especially have an inquisitive mind and are always keen on wandering and venturing everywhere. So, if there is a ton of noise and no fence to keep them contained within their roaming territory it may be a problem. Beagles are very social dogs and they also tend to roam together in packs so they would love nothing more than to escape with the other neighborhood dogs.
Beagles are gentle and love life, but beware as the Beagle can also be stubborn and difficult to obedience train or house train. Many people find beagle potty training especially challenging. If you and your puppy attend a group training class, it can be difficult. They are easily distracted by the sight or scent of any animal that crosses their path, even one that may have crossed it hours ago. But, you must have persistence as it is critical for your beagle puppy to be trained. You will want to ensure that they also can respond to the command “come”. Because of their free spirit they tend to dart after the first bird, squirrel, or creature that catches their eye or their curiosity.
You do not want beagle stubbornness to rule, you will want to rule your beagle. Even though they are happy go lucky, happy-go-lucky, gentle dogs still need manners, and Beagle owners need patience to deal with their pets’ lack of enthusiasm for formal training. You may consider getting an obedience coach to help with the training.
They say dogs are like their owners. So, if you love life, are free-spirited, and have an infectious zest for adventure, a beagles may perhaps be the best soul pet for you.
